Internal VAT Manual

It is a fact of life that, in carrying out the Council's functions, many of the things you purchase will carry VAT. This is because the suppliers who sell these goods and services to you are VAT-registered and their supplies are "taxable supplies".

The purpose of this manual is to help you comply with those rules by giving you specific advice and examples on when you have to charge VAT to your customers and when you can reclaim VAT on the purchases you make.
