Investors in People
IIP Re-accreditation - February 2012
Update January 2012
Investors in People (IIP) – Progress report – January 2012
As you may have previously read in All Aboard, Three Rivers District Council’s Investors in People Review is due in February. Investors in People is an independent inspection process which will help us to explore and improve how we manage our staff.
Robert Thomson, the Investors in People Assessor, will be with us in Three Rivers House on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd February, and spend the morning of the 21st Feb at the depot. As well as looking at documents, policies and processes, he will meet with around 45 people from a wide range of roles within the Council.
Robert used our organisation charts to select who he wanted to meet, to ensure that there was a fair selection of people from across the organisation. The purpose of the assessment is to seek evidence as to whether the organisation meets the Investors in People National Standard. The assessor will look to identify existing strengths of the organisation and areas for further development to feedback and support continuous improvement.
He will use the information from the interviews to produce his assessment report. However, he will not tell us who said what – so the interviews are completely confidential.
We will be holding briefing sessions in the Penn Chamber on the 8th February for those selected for interview who would like more information about what the interview will involve.
In the meantime, should you have any questions please contact Linda Brooks Ext 278594 or Sherrie Ralton on Ext 278229
Further updates will be published on this page and evidence will be stored in the Investors in People folder on the shared drive.
The Investors in People Standard
The Investors in People Standard provides a framework that helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the effective management and development of their people
The Investors in People Standard is based on three key principles:
-
Plan – Developing strategies to improve the performance of the organisation
-
Do – Taking action to improve the performance of the organisation
-
Review – Evaluating the impact on the performance of the organisation.
During IiP review assessments, the working practices at Three Rivers are reviewed against these three key principles.
Investors in People assessment 2009
The Investors in People (IiP) review assessment took place for three days from 3-5 February 2009.
During the assessment, the assessor – Angela Stimson, from The Assessment Network – used both one to one and group interviews to meet with a range of staff from across the organisation.
