Learning and Development
Corporate training
Corporate training will be organised to address the corporate training needs identified at staff appraisals and to support strategic priorities and corporate initiatives.
You can book yourself onto most internal Corporate Training courses through ResourceLink via the self service Learning and Development Module. This Module enables employees to:
· review the records of their learning and development activity from April 2010
· download course outlines
· submit requests for places on the majority of in house corporate training courses.
Once a request is submitted:
· It will automatically be sent to the employee’s line manager to authorise. · If it is authorised and a training place is available, the employee’s request will be confirmed
· If there are no events scheduled or the course is full, then the employee will be added to a waiting list.
· The L and D team will check the waiting lists at regular intervals and arrange courses when the level of identified need is sufficient.
In addition to the above, Managers will be able to:
· review the training records of each member of reporting staff
· authorise or refuse requests for training
· view a calendar for internal training booked across their team.
This means that training nomination forms will no longer have to be completed for internal courses.
The following training activities cannot be arranged via ResourceLink self service:
· External programmes.
· Qualification training.
· Mandatory roll outs (where the Council determines the delegate pool).
The processes for these training activities are unchanged.
